Breast Lift Surgery: What Is It, What Are the Applications and Procedures, Frequently Asked Questions

Breast lift surgery is applied to people who have sagging breast tissue due to factors such as rapid weight gain, birth, breastfeeding and aging. In case of volume loss in breast lift surgery, fullness and volume is provided in the breast by using a silicone implants.

How is Breast Lift Surgery Performed?

Breast lift surgery is performed under general anesthesia. It takes about 1.5 - 2 hours. During this operation, the shape of the breast tissue is changed as previously sketches. If necessary, a silicone implant is placed under the tissue. Circular incisions are made around the nipple, under the breast and around the nipple just as anchor shape. The fat tissues in the breast are pushed higher through the incisions. It is positioned upwards in the most desired. The nipple is placed in proportion to the new and lifted breasts. The incisions are closed and the operation is terminated.

1.Is there a Risk of Breast Lift Surgery?

Breast lift aesthetics is an operation that does not carry serious risks in general. As in every surgical procedure, complications such as infleciton, bleeding, effusion, suture deviation can be observed in the short term albeit low probability.

If it has been decided to perform this surgery after birth, you should wait for the end of the breastfeeding period. Even after breastfeeding, you have to wait another 6 to 12 months. In case the sagging is the result of sudden weight loss and therefore the patient requests stretching surgery, surgery should only be considered after reaching the target weight.

A corset is used for at least 1 month to support the breast shape after breast lift surgery. You can return to daily life two weeks after breast lift surgery. You should not lift heavy weights for the first 2 months. You should stay away from sports activities for 6-8 weeks.

Although some scars remain in breast lift surgeries performed with current techniques and materials, the scars are invisible level unless carefully looked at. It is more difficult to see the surgical scar in people with dark skin.

Are there any non-surgical breast lift method?

Creams, massage applications and some other tools, also known as non-surgical breast lift methods, do not allow the nipple to rise above the fold line, in other words, to lift the breast. Contrary to popular belief, doing sports cannot cause the breast lift again.
