Non-Surgical Cosmetic Procedures: What Is It, What Are the Applications and Procedures, Frequently Asked Questions
What is cosmetic procedures?
Cosmetic procedures are generally performed on people who are not 'sick' medically and do not prevent their daily activities; on the other hand, there are directly related to the person's psyhco-social status. The main non-surgical cosmetic applications are Botulinum Toxin Type-A application and fillers.
The aging process is a slow, continuous and irreversible process. It occurs at different levels from person to person and appears in each person at different times. Over the years, our face has been affected by gravity, sun rays (UV), mimic movements repeated millions of times, negative factors such as smoking, harmful foods, etc. As a result of these conditions, the skin loses its elasticity and wrinkles occur.
The most common areas of wrinkles are around the lips and nose, under the eyes, between the two eyebrows, on the forehead, and around the outer corners of the eyes. Over time, the bone structure in these areas also begins to melt. Wrinkles caused by the movements of the muscles are called dynamic wrinkles, and those caused by gravity are called static wrinkles.

Botulinum (Botulinum Toxin Type-A) is a medical protein obtained from the bacterium Clostridium botulinum. This protein has been used in the treatment of eye and neurological diseases for a very long time. In order to remove wrinkles, it has been used safely and successfully in cosmetics for 10 years.
Botulinum Toxin Type-A is considered to be a non-surgical cosmetic product for healing medium and deep wrinkles.
The cause of skin wrinkles on the skin; is the contraction of the thin muscles under the skin. Botulinum Toxin Type-A reduces the wrinkles of the skin by blocking the passage of nerves in the injected area and preventing muscle contraction.
It can be applied to anyone between the ages of 18-65. It is especially used in the treatment of wrinkles on the face and neck. It is not recommended to be used in pregnant and breastfeeding women.
It can be applied at all points where wrinkles occur such as treatment of horizontal lines and vertical bands on the neck, the horizontal line between the lower lip and the chin, the lines between the two eyebrows that cause the appearance of frowning eyebrows, the horizontal lines in the forehead, the lifting of both sides of the eyebrows.
Botulinum Toxin Type-A provides an average of 4-6 months of recovery. As the number of applications increases, this period may extend up to 12 months. After the effect of the application wears off, the wrinkles recover to their former state or the skin gains a better appearance than before.
The risks of the procedure are almost non-existent when applied by the specialists. After the application, there may be temporary headache, flu-like complaints and sometimes mild redness or bruising in the application area.
Aging skin loses collagen and fat, resulting in sagging, collapses and wrinkles. By using fillers, the lost structures are replaced and a younger and healthier appearance is provided. The "hyaluronic acid" used as a filler is actually a natural substance in all living things. It is also frequently used in eye and joint diseases.
Fillers are selected according to the region and depth to be used. Products with small particles are used in finer lines, products with large particles are used in thicker lines. Following injection, the fillers combine with body tissues. It allows the passage of oxygen, hormones and nutritional elements in a natural way. It provides a healthy and natural appearance. After a while, it is destroyed and excreted from the body due to normal biological processes.
